President Prabowo Subianto has a deep connection with farmers, as shared by Dedek Prayudi, a Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). This connection stems from pivotal moments in Prabowo’s life, including his time as a military officer and leading the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI). Recently, during a grand corn harvest event in Jenggalu Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province, President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka emphasized the importance of the Food Security Program. This program aims to reduce Indonesia’s reliance on foreign food supplies, especially crucial in the current global situation. With government support providing subsidized fertilizers, pesticides, and machinery, the corn harvest yield is expected to increase, motivating farmers further. The National Food Agency (Pusdatin Bapanas) and the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) are collaborating to absorb farmers’ corn harvests and integrate the supply chains of farmers and livestock breeders. This initiative is supported by various officials and organizations, including the National Development Policy Assistance Network (JPKP) and Pupuk Indonesia. It is essential to expedite administrative requirements to ensure farmers can access subsidized fertilizers and maximize production capacity, ultimately benefiting farmers and enhancing food security in Indonesia.
